During the course of her interplanetary adventure, Avril will explore four different planets inhabited by the most diverse and fascinating creatures.
Some of them will be peaceful while some others will be very dangerous. Today, we’ll tell you a little bit more about those who inhabit Gryja, the first planet she will visit!
Life on Gryja follows a continuous cycle similar to reincarnation. Every single form of life is destined to return to the planet’s core in the condition of a stellar particle and then form again and again.
This process is sustained by the primordial stream that flows from the planet’s central core throughout its entire surface, disseminating souls on the ground that later blossom into living essences that range from non-sentient to superior beings.
The experiences collected in the previous life and the quantity of terrestrial energy assimilated during one’s cycle influence the level of consciousness they have, based on which they are divided into primordial, intermediate, elevated, and guardian. These, in turn, are deployed in two main factions that fight against each other: Builders and Destroyers.
Builders are the most advanced society on the planet and incorporate the races of Buna and Sakhra, who have joined forces to protect their village, Alhaya, from their sworn enemy, the Destroyers, a nomadic tribe who continually attacks builders’ outposts and their constructions.
Their alliance, however, does not prevent them from internal conflicts: despite possessing an extremely complex intellect and culture, the builders of Gryja are indeed deeply tied to a tradition based on strength and honor, and this leads to numerous episodes of social tensions and racism.
Let’s discover more about the first of these two tribes forming the builders’ alliance: the Buna.
The buna are the oldest life forms on the planet and represent the warrior and ruling class of builders. They are statuesque, have four arms, great physical strength and natural armor deriving from the rocky material their skin is made of. Their chrome plating depends on the rocks the souls come from, and it is said that it changes according to their mood and age.

Each young Buna must show their pride by leaving the village alone and defeating a large number of destroyers. The higher the value of the hunt, the higher the rank they will be entrusted with upon their return. For this reason, many young Buna in search of glory venture into very dangerous places, and it is not uncommon for many to never return.
The wisest and oldest of Buna are called Maqalat. Their task is to keep alive the memories and traditions of its inhabitants by engraving the surface of the dhakiras, the ancestral stones encompassing the eternal memory of Gryja.

Their writing ritual takes place in extremely extended times, and their compositions can take hundreds of years. They spend their time absorbed on the slopes of the highest peaks, gazing at the sky in a constant trance.
All Maqalat are deaf and dumb, as theirs is the language of the stars and the universe, and their consciences communicate transcending the order imposed by ordinary mortals.
