Hello, Keeper of Balance!
The release date of Batora: Lost Haven is very close, so it’s time to reveal some new updates that you will find in the final version of the gameplay, to explain to you what you are going to play.
Level Up and minor update
A new level-up reward – In our last update, we explained to you how to get a level-up in Batora: Lost Haven, but the time has come to tell you that we have decided to include the possibility not only to recharge both the HP bars of your life completely, but also to introduce an area of damage around Avril that pushes enemies away from her.
Leveling up thus becomes a really strategic asset within the combat system, which allows you not only to gain some healing, but also to take advantage of a second of stasis during very tight fights.

Exploration reward – In addition to this level-up change, we have also decided to improve the rewards that are granted by exploration. Now you have the opportunity to find runes in chests scattered around the environment so as in puzzles.
Fireflies speed increased – Among the exploration updates you will also notice that we increased the speed of the fireflies, to prevent Avril from overtaking them when you found yourself asking for a suggestion on the direction to take. Fireflies can be summoned to your support to show you the way to go to reach the next objective of the current mission.
Hybrid enemies and skill enhancements
Hybrid Enemies – We have placed a lot more emphasis on hybrid enemies. We are talking about opponents who must be fought both with the mental form and with the physical form, because they are vulnerable to both and not just one.

With this update, hybrids are promoted to the role of real mini-bosses and you will often find them defending dungeons within which puzzles to complete to advance in the game are hidden. A mechanic that will allow you to test your combat skills and then concentrate more on the logic required by solving the next environmental puzzle.
Mental and Physical Shield edits – We improved the AI of all your opponents and at the same time some of Avril’s abilities, to allow combat to be more dynamic and engaging.
Let’s start by saying that the mental shield was previously only blocking bullets, but now it is able to block any type of attack. As for the physical shield, we increased the defense value, although it is not yet able to totally cancel the damage.
Combo system changes
Here, however, is the news that we most wanted to tell you about, because we have made some important improvements to the combo system. There will no longer be just one combo to unleash when you use your normal attack, but more sequences.
Let’s take an example based on the physical form: you will have your basic attack combo triggered by pressing the X button three times (in reference to an Xbox controller, or the Square button on a PlayStation console), or you have a different combo if you use the right stick of your controller.
Instead of three normal blows, you will have a regular blow followed by a lunge attack that will allow you to dash forward and decrease the gap with the opponent, from that moment, you can press the X button to deliver a sweep attack.

Within this system, another mechanism is also present, but this time based on timing instead of input method. In fact, while attacking with the X button, if before the third blow you wait a little longer before pressing the action button again, a visual effect will be activated that will allow you to use another attack instead of the sweep, making Avril do a jump in the air with the sword and then land performing an area damage.

Using the same keys, therefore, according to your needs and learning to master the combo system at its best, you will be able to attack in different ways, so to change your offensive strategy and maximize results.
